 UU DOME.   Sun May 19 -  12:45 pm.   An intro to  *Zora Neale Hurston featuring Phyllis McEwen.  This event is at the UU Dome (UU Church of Tampa).  Altho it isn't a concert,  there will be some songs included in the program.  Phyllis is an  actor-scholar, poet, and  educator who is well known throughout Florida for her wonderful theatrical portrayals of Zora.  It will  be presented in not only an informational/scholarly type context but will also include some of Phylls’ theatrical “in-character”  portrayals of Zora’s songs and stories.    The program, which will last approximately 45 minutes, will be followed by a talkback.  * Zora Neale Hurston (1891-1960) was from Eatonville, Florida.  Zora was a novelist, folklorist, and anthropologist whose fictional and factual accounts of Black heritage are unparalleled.
